How's Your Health?

Are you feeling down? Has the past few weeks been a bit more miserable than the weeks before and you can't put your finger on why? You're a Christian and study bringing everything to the Lord. This isn't how your relationship has developed in the past.

Jeremiah in the old testament had that problem. He prayed to the Lord in Jeremiah 15 that he was filled with joy when he was filled with the words God gave him to speak to the people, but now he was hurting, depressed. God had an answer for him that was surprising.

Jeremiah prayed to the Lord, "Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable?  You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails. Therefore this is what the Lord says:  “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman.  Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them." Jeremiah 15:18-19

God told Jeremiah that he would have to change and get back on the same page with Him if he wanted to continue his ministry as God's spokesman and feel better. That’s kind of surprising for someone that has been working so closely with God all of his life. That challenges us to be watch carefully and evaluate more than our health when we are feeling miserable. How is your spiritual health?

You're invited to worship and study with us Sunday at 10:30 am. We meet 2 blocks south of the railroad tracks on Fannin street (209 Fannin).
