Prayers and Thoughts
Today we remember 9/11/01.
Our prayers for strength, courage, and comfort go up for those who are still working through the loss, health issues, and post traumatic stress that came with the attack that day. We also pray for our service men and women and their families who have gone to war since.
Another critical need in our area is for consistent rain. The cracks in the ground continue to deepen and as someone has said, we continue to mow dirt. We pray for rain in eastern Callahan county.

Injustice and Truth
Do you see injustice in the world
today?
Some people call it evil. Some people would like to fight wars over injustice. Whatever you call it or want to do about it, injustice is wrong. God talks
about it in His Word.
"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." - 1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV
We find the truth in God's Word. We're seeking to know God better by studying His relationship with the children of Israel, Moses, and Aaron at 10:30 am this Sunday.

What happens when His people don't live up to their part of their relationship with Him?
YOU'RE INVITED! We're meeting 2 blocks south of the railroad tracks

Summer's End and Grumpy
The day was stressful. The traffic was heavy and it slowed to a crawl. All a wanted to do was to be home! When you hit the door after that day, are you tired, stressed. and grumpy?
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." - 1 Corinthians 13:4 NIV
Patience is when I don't complain, get annoyed, lash out, or anything else the devil may have in mind when I am confronted with a stress. I endure and help to become a blessing to the people in my life with tenderness instead of someone people have to be careful what they do and say around.
I set myself up in advance on the way home how I will react to whatever will come up. Try it. Pray about it!
What possibilities does God have for you to be a blessing in patience and kindness today? Decide ahead of time that when you have times like these that you won't give away your peace and take it out on the ones you love. Will you decide today?
Good for you!
You are invited to worship with us 10:30 Sunday morning. We are 2 blocks south of the railroad tracks on Fannin Street in Putnam.

What's stealing your time?
Do you work all of the time and
spend little time with your family and friends? When you do go home, the
projects you work on at home or volunteer for overwhelm you? Steal your time?
Is it getting in the way of your relationships with your family? Or with God?
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." - 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV
I can do all sorts of great things even good things for the community - get great promotions, have the toughest pickemup truck, renovate my home by myself, and on and on. But, was the relationship cost worth the time?
Time helps me build those loving relationships. Time with God. Time with my family. It's a sneaky trap the devil lays for me gradually affecting my relationships.
Recognize it as it starts. Renew my mind in Christ as often as I need.
Your invited to worship and study God's word with us each Sunday at 10:30 am in Putnam. We're two blocks south of the railroad tracks on Fannin Street.
